White Water Rafting and Dancing, Bali

Today, we rented another car and driver to take us out for another full day. We could have rented scooters but I was afraid to have the kids on them. So car and driver it is. Our first stop was another temple. it seems today was more of a planned tour instead of just going to the places we wanted to. But we still had a blast.

One activity we knew we wanted to do in Thailand was a cooking class. We had been looking online and at the hotel for recommendations but weren't really impressed with any one place. While at Hug Elephant Sanctuary, one of the other guests suggested Da's Organic Farm. We checked it out online and knew this was the place.

Every day we have been driving past a temple with this red statue out front. Since we were in the area, I suggested we finally stop and check it out. I am so glad we did. There were so many great areas and lots of monks. I am really sad we never got to do the "monk chat" next time.

After a few days of checking out what downtown Chaing Mai had to offer, we were ready to venture out of the city. After considering our options of transportation (tuk-tuk, rental car, motorbikes, we decided on the safest and most economical way to hire a Songthaew driver.

This was a day that we won't soon forget! We spent the day playing with elephants. Truly amazing. The Hug Elephant Sanctuary was a little slice of heaven.  You can check out some more photos on their FB page.

We stayed in Chiang Mai for 2 weeks. It was great to relax and just take in the culture and the city. We got into a great routine of heading to breakfast at Nam-dok-mai. Just a 5-minute walk from our hotel. Ella loved the French Toast, and Miles loved all the delicious lemonades. I loved having REAL coffee! and Sean loved the puppy we named Al Figi. Not only was there delicious breakfast nearby but a great local market.
